A photomanipulation. Originally, there was the huge white disk of the over-exposed moon there where the star was. I was actually more striken with the way the clouds around it looked. I snapped off several hundred photos, and rather than go through them all, I got the first one I found that would look good like this, then removed the moon (I love the patch tool!) and then created a star in its place. Nothing fancy to create the star, I just used the cross hatch brush (the one that looks like an X) to create a bit of glare, then a soft round brush to create the glow. Then I added a bit of lens flare over the top. The colours and saturation have been enhanced as well.

I was going after the effect of a star shining inside a nebula.
